Subject:Nasty noises from B4?
First off, I love B4 for a lot of reasons, and I use it all the time, but there
are times when I want a cleaner sound - much cleaner. Pull just the 8' drawbar,
turn overdrive and all the other effects off and listen to the middle of the
keyboard. There is a strong sub-octave tone as well as some high harmonics that
are very annoying if I am trying to play a subdued, quiet tune. I assume this
is NI's attempt to duplicate crosstalk, but I think it is way overdone. I've got
an A-100, an RT-3 and a CV at home, and I've played a hundred other Hammonds -
none of them make noises this nasty. Is there any way to dial this effect down
or out? I have run this on 4 or 5 different computers and 3 different operating
systems, with sound hardware ranging from the built-in chip in my laptop to a
mutichannel Midiman Delta ASIO card. I have tried all available clock & sample
rate settings. They all do the same thing, so I know it is coming from the B4.
Any insights?
