Anton,

I split my Leslies left and right of the consoles so I get this stereo
spin effect. It sounds incredible! Certainly worth the price.

No, I have not set my CX3 to my '55 yet. My next project is to program
on my CX3 all four of my B3/Leslie combinations as they all sound
radically different. They are listed below:

1955 B3 and 2 - 22H Leslies (Nice and mellow...)
1956 B3 and 1 - 145 Leslie (Screams.... plus has amazing key click)
1960 B3 and 1 - 145 and 1 - 147 Leslie (Major Scream! Bites like a
banshee!)
1963 B3 and 1 - 122 Leslie (Nice all-around sound, my performance B3...
I add a 145 to the 122 when performing live)

David,

Thank you for the settings.

I have never heard twin Lelsie's before. I have a '57 C3 and a single
122 and it sounds great. Does the twin Leslie's sound bigger than 1+1?
Where do you sit in relation tho the two cabs?

Do you have CX3 settings for your '55 B3?

For those who asked, here are the program settings that I use to match
my CX3 version 2 to my 1960 B3 and twin Leslie 145's... This Hammond and
Leslie rig has a lot of bite to it and is on the rockier side... It
sounds quite a bit sharper and distinctive than my 1955 B3 with twin
22H's that I use for mellow blues and jazz.

Subject: cx3 question

David,

I posted the following message and wondered if you could
send me the settings that work for you. I called Steve Hayes
at speakeasy and he says that the noise I am hearing is
coming from the cx3, but practically nobody else seems to
experience them. Can you help me please?

anton.chovit@mayfieldsenior.org

I just purchased a CX3 (v.2) and a stereo speakeasy classic
clone preamp. I run the cx3 directly into the speakeasy and
then into a mixer and then to monitors or headphones. My
speakeasy settings are all at 3 o'clock and the gain set to
achieve unity gain at the board. I have tried virtually every
setting from the cx3 to the mixer and I get a pulsing
distortion sound when I push the organ hard while playing two
or more bass notes with a bass heavy patch (e.g. 888800000).
This sound is probably what a previous post mentioned as a
pop, but it is more of a low frequency doppler beat sound as
the frequency of the pulse varies with the interval between
the pitches played. I find if I run the cx3 with the bass EQ
knob set to 9 o'clock, I can raise the cx3's volume knob up
to max without getting the distortion, but if I increase the
bass above 12 o'clock, the distortion occurs. I monitor the
cx3 through its headphone output and I do not hear the sound.
If anybody has setting that work for them in a similar
situation I wuld be glad to hear of them. There was a post
that referenced an older post of cx3/speakeasy settings, but
I could not find them, could someone please post these again?

I have also found that the stereo speakeasy gets plenty of
signal from the cx3, but have noticed posts to the contrary.
Maybe those were for the mono model?
