Subject:Re: Chop vs. Clone
See, I knew you guys'd talk some sense into me! Even as I wrote my
1st post, I was thinking the SE/Leslie combo was the thing to do.
The chop would be more of a hassle, and I am the true definition of
weekend warrior. I don't mind carrying a leslie as it will really
help my sound, but I've spent the last year streamlining my rig into
what it is now- to go the chop route would eliminate all those
efforts.
I've emailed speakeasy about the dual channel pre- one side with the
leslie output, the other side to route my Electro Rhodes sounds thru
before going into my Barbetta. I'm going to their road leslie with
the 147 amp and the hot rod horn modification. Still not sure if I
want the howler option or the classic, I'm leaning towards the
classic as long as you can get some decent overdrive when you floor
the volume pedal.
I lugged a 145 cabinet for a long time- I really do miss the sound
of that thing! I know my band will love it too, enough that they
will help me carry it. I won't need a bigger truck this way, and my
wife will be "happy" that I'm not spending 6 grand. Thanks again
guys! I'll let you all know when I get my new toys.
