Subject:V5....Nord alternatives for uncle humuna

The Nord Electro shouldn't be overlooked. While the
V5 does sound great (I owned one for a couple years)
the percussion is anemic and the chorus/vib is
useless. Those are areas where the Nord shines, as
well as its great feeling Hammondy keyboard. You can
navigate those drawbuttons quite easily (didn't take
me long...within 3 gigs I was quite comfortable).
However, if you are a drawbar holdout (as I was), you
can actually use your V5 as a drawbar controller for
your Electro. With the purchase of a pre-programmed
inexpensive Midi Mapper (about the size of a
half-Twinkie) you just insert between the units and
your v5 is now your drawbar controller. I used this
for a month but I ended up selling it as I had just
gotten so used to using the buttons that it was silly
to carry an extra piece of gear.

As proof of my satisfaction with the Nord Experience,
I was lucky enough to make a trade: my v5 and SPIN II
for a second NordElectro 73. Didn't even think twice
about it.
