Hi all-I have just joined the groupthru surfing "speakeasy" I have been
looking for a discussion group like this for years, I am a weekend
warrior-been playing keys for about 20 yearbefore that I played guitar
in bands thru college, but the damn things keep going out of tune-ha ha
and I got tired of looking for " the perfect guitar sound" but I'll
admit finding the great hammond sound untill the XK-2 and motion sound
pro-3 and low pro, came along was impossible unless you have the real
thing and who wants to move one (my dad has a 1962 b-3 and 122) so I
play the xk-2 and a yamaha-s-80 and a rack mount korg o1w that I velcro
to the top of my xk-2-I use amidi volume pedal to pull sounds to my
yamaha and mix it all including 3 sm-57's used to mike my motion sound
stuff or my145 thru a rack mount mackie board,I stereo out my korg and
yamaha -1 send to my kb300 monitor .and one to the house- my xk-2 is
stand alone and is miked to the house, the rack sits behind me on top
of my leslie or motion sound and my kb0300 sits facing me in front of my
pedal board-this has taken about 5 years to get this figured out,but it
is a great setup for a copy band that plays new country and classic
rock.I play a lot of organ pads while usually playing some form of piano
with my right hand-but the xk- can be a semi-screamer if set up
properly and can still pull in strings or horns as needed with my midi
volume pedal. well I have gabbed enough for now-looking forward to
reading and talking to you about your rigs . dave sutter ashland ky.
