Subject:Dialing in my CX-3/SE/JBL Eon

Just bought a JBL Eon G2 15 to use with my CX-3 and Speakeasy
Classic. (Wow. What a difference from my Peavey KB100!)

I'm having a little trouble dialing in the Speakeasy, however.
Steve Hayes always suggests driving the Speakeasy hard, and the CX-3
output seems pretty low. So, I reset the volume of each of the
patches to 127 (the max). Then, I cranked the CX-3 volume knob up
all the way. SE volume set variously between 12 and 3:00. The G2
volume set very low. So far, so good. But if I push the expression
pedal down far, I get really nasty static and popping noises – not
the beautiful growl I'm looking for. A lot of that nasty sound
seems to be in synch with the speed of the (simulated) Leslie rotor
(on the slow speed, you can hear a bad static sound on each
rotation).

If I back off the volume knob, the nasty stuff vanishes, but I
wonder if I'm getting all the warmth I should. I know Steve's glad
to help, but he's told me he's not very familiar with the CX-3, so I
thought I'd try the list first.

Any CX-3/BX-3 users who can share the secrets of their settings?
