Subject:B4 / Evolution UC-16


Hey folks,

I haven't had a chance to play with my VK-7 / B4 setup, but I hope to get to it soon. If you remember, I have an older PC that I have made into a dedicated B4. I want to use it on stage w/o a computer monitor, if possible. I'll keep a keyboard for it, but I don't plan on using it.

So I've been thinking about how to control other functions where the VK-7 won't send MIDI info. Tonight I stumbled across the Evolution UC-16, chockful of knobs and buttons, and it already comes programmed for the B4 - all for roughly $99!

Has anyone tried one of these gizmos, and if so, what are your feelings on it? I'd like to velcro it to the VK-7; is there a USB cable for it that is long enough that I can set the PC by my amps (maybe 10-15')?
