Subject:update on new controller/KBR-M thoughts
Hey everybody,
Thanks for all the input. I just picked up a mint used Roland
A-70 controller. Cool keyboard - 76 keys, great action - long slim
keys, similar to the Virus keyboard. I originally thought it had
waterfall keys like the A-30 and A-33, but it still feels good. TONS
of midi functions, expansion card has a lot of good sounds, I
think it will be a great controller, even if its not a long term
solution..
We'll see how long the new keyboard love affair lasts this time ;-)
Still may consider a Kurzweil down the road, but I have gotten too
many conflicting reports on the reliability, coupled with past
experiences to feel really comfortable with that right now.
But we'll see....
Stage rig now:
Electro 2 - 73,
Virus B synth
Roland A-70
Behringer Eurorack MX 602
KBR-M OR JBL EON 15PAK
other stuff / backups:
Roland Rd-600
Roland P-55 piano module
Voce V5
________
Speaking of the KBR-M - I think I like the sound of the Electro with
its own leslie more than it through the KBR-M. It seems to sing a
bit more, though I haven't really tweaked the 2 together that
much.... Maybe I'll do that this week. But I really like the sound of
my V-5 through the KBR-M. That screams...
I don't really care for the sound of acoustic pianos as much
through the KBR-M - it seems to color the sound with mids that I
don't like very much. MY JBL is much cleaner and crisper for
pianos. Any other thoughts???
