Subject:Re: CX3 vs Electro = Sound vs Weight

I have a different opinion on the Electro leslie sim,
but I may be of a different breed, and I'll tell you
why.

I use my Electro with a real leslie, but I am not a
huge fan of the "rollerskate" mode (Fast). I have my
footswitches set up so that it only goes to fast as
long as I hold my foot down, like a piano's sustain
pedal. So for me, the fast mode is simply an
expressive "moment" as opposed to a sound.

And having used the Electro for a while with NO
leslie, I can tell you that it sounds pretty damn
good, better than anything I've heard (although I
haven't heard Joe's tweaked CX leslie). And factor in
that you will be hearing it "in context", with the
band playing, you have a startling amount of realism
there.

As an example, I heard the GooGooDolls on the Today
show Friday morning, and their keyboardist was using a
Motif8, no midi. And his organ sounds actually
sounded good...and I wouldn't use the Motif for organ,
even though I own a couple (the 8 and the rack).

Joe is right though: Spend some time in the store
A/Bing them both if you can.
