Subject:Re: CX3 vs Electro = Sound vs Weight
Jake,
Here is my very biased opinion:
The Electro organ is the best sounding clone currntly available.
The Electro Leslie sim is the best I've heard - having said that, I play the
Electro through a Leslie when I gig.
The Wurly, Rhodes and Clavinet are unrivalled.
The piano action is a little hard to handle - I usually play the pianos from
my A70 controller.
The Electro acoustic piano is usable, but thin sounding with a fast decay.
I prefer the A70 piano.
It is possible to play a gig with just my Electro and my Barbetta, but I
prefer my Electo, my A70, my Leslie and a keyboard amp.
73 notes makes it ideal for playing organ splits.
The drawbuttons are manageable, if not ideal. It's possible to control the
drawbars with the V5 with translation ( another box )
I have A/B dthe CX3 and the Electro - the Electro won.
I own a B3, several Leslies, a Wurly, a Clav, a Rhodes, and an acoustic
piano ( Heintzman )
The Electro is my favorite all-time keyboard purchase. I've owned just
about every clone ever made, the Electro is the best. I keep my V5 for
reasons of simplicity in my stage rig, and I often play the V5 as my organ
while using an Electro EP patch. The V5 is still a great organ sound,
although the V/C isn't as good as the Electro.
Buy it, you'll love it.
Cheers, Ken
