To true... there is nothing quite like having a Leslie speaker whirling away next to you. But, if you're in the audience at a gig watching an eight piece band do its thing, only real Hammond fans would spot the difference between the Leslie and a half decent sim. Still I'm waiting for someone to crack the rotory sim problem, I'm sure it'll happen. In the meantime I'm still using a Korg G4 which sounds pretty good at gigs.

Hey Carl....glad things are getting better. As for
this comment....
"probably going to have to get a pre-amp (speakeasy?)
and connect to my Leslie, although I know this will
mean I'll want to take my Leslie to gigs and that
destroys the whole rationale for a clone in the first
place."
Let me just say that every time one of my Hammonds
comes out, it makes me grateful for the quality of the
clones out there. A leslie (especially a shortboy)
isn't so bad...although there are times like tonite
when I wish I wasn't carrying ANYTHING except an
Electro or 2, period. But the leslie does sound so
incredible, regardless of what is going through it.
