There is no non-volatile memory in the SPIN 1. That's why it reverts to the
factory settings when you power-up and why there are no user presets. We
usually try to give people as much MIDI functionality for a given set of
hardware. That's why we implemented MIDI CCs as tweaks for the patches
(patches and presets are used synonymously). You aren't missing anything.
It's working properly.
