Subject:Re: Radium 61 anyone?

I've got a Radium 61, and it's got a really cheap feel. I mean, it is a pretty
inexpensive device to begin with, but it doesn't seem to have nearly the build
quality of the Oxygen 8 that it's replacing.

I've got a ton of gear, including the Roland VK-8, but as of July am running a Mac/
MIDI support group in Chicago and decided to outfit my laptop with software and a
portable keyboard for training and demos. I sold the Oxygen 8 on Ebay because i
really wanted sliders AND knobs, not one or the other. And GC hasn't stocked the
ReMOTE25 which is the replacement I really wanted -- but for $400, which is
double the cost of the Radium, I decided to see if i could get by with something
less.

Haven't had any trouble with it under OSX. the Laptop found it without any trouble
(it was a demo unit that came without manual, box, or cd) -- perhaps because the
Oxygen 8 drivers were still in place. The rightmost slider seems a little stiff, but it's
usable.
