Subject:V3 & Leslie

In anticipation of my BX-3's arrival (not here yet, but that's
another story) I took my Leslie 145 and combo pre-amp over to my
band's rehearsal space this week and hooked up my Voce V3 (I control
it from a Casio VZ-1 and Korg N5EX). What a difference!

I've been using a Motion Sound KBR-3D, and thought it was pretty
good, but I had forgotten how good the real thing sounded. Especially
on the low end; the MS's 10" speakers just don't have the low
frequency guts that the Leslie's 15" woofer has. I've got the input
pot on the pre-amp turned up all the way, and I seem to be able to
get some pretty nice overdrive when I push my volume pedal up. I
still want to get a Speakeasy when I have the funds, but for now, I
think I'm going to get a very usable sound this way.

I'll still be using the MS for my synths, but it looks like I'm going
to have to make room in my van for the Leslie. Oh well, it isn't that
heavy, and the guys (& girl) I play with are good about helping set
up.
