Hi,

The XB-2 is a completely different animal: it plays back samples of a tonewheel Hammond, rather than using modeling technology. I don't feel that you can put the XB-2's Leslie simulator in the same league as the simulators in the newer modeling synthesizers, either. I don't know where in the chain the XB-2's simulator is, or even if the simulator is digital or analog, but that simulator is not going to fool diehard players into thinking there is a real Leslie in the room.
My perception is that many players feel that Korg really nailed the sound of a mic'ed Leslie in the CX-3/BX-3, and they wish that the Leslie was a separate entity. Some of them even wish they could buy the Leslie simulator separately to add to another clone. Unfortunately, the Leslie simulator isn't a piece of hardware -- it's a piece of software.
