Subject:Any novel ideas for elevating a Pro-3T?
We're a 4 piece band playing small venues. My rig is an XK2 into a Pro3T and a Roland KC-500 (also a Yamaha P80 and JV1080 into the KC500). The Pro3T typically sits atop the KC500, which places it about thigh high. My rig is not miked, and this is not an option. This is bad enough, given our guitarist's volume, but the real trouble is that we often have to set up in a way that places my amp and Pro3T immediately beside or even *behind* me, like in a corner of a room with no stage (I told you, small venues). So a lot the sound just isn't getting out there. Has anyone devised any *space-efficient* solutions for elevating a Pro3T? I feel that if I could at least get the horn elevated, like to 122 height, it'd improve things a lot. Space is always at a premium for us, so the solution has to make very efficient use of it. Of course I'd want it to be very stable too. I'm kinda stumped, but I figure if there's a solution out there this is the place to find it. Having not yet separated the Pro3T and the KC500 by anything more than a 3-space rack case, I do wonder how separation of a few feet will affect the overall sound of the XK2, but I guess I'll find that out. Any comments are welcome, if you think I'm heading down the wrong path in this regard. And yes, I already know that the KC500 is not the best choice, but for now it is what it is. Thanks in advance.
