Subject:Re: VK-8 ....(was Anyone got mp3 samples of Pro-3T (+ low pro) and / or R3-147?)

One of the first things I did when I bought my VK-8 was to go into the EQ section and bump the lows and highs to max. This made a huge difference to emulating the ballsy sound of a good sounding B-3.

I also tweaked the Leslie sim some, widened the stereo spread, pulled back the soft perc. a bit. etc. It is also critical to run this keyboard (any clone) through a stereo rig in order to experience a realistic Leslie effect. I use twin Peavey KB-100s.

Believe it or not, there is actually an advantage in the VK-8 not having a digital readout for editing.... you have to use your ears and are not "fooled" by adjusting a given parameter, much the same as a real B-3.

Just my two cents. Hope this helps.

I'm considering buying one of these to try and beef up my VK-8 (too
poor/weak for a real B3), but am finding very difficult getting samples -
even from the manufacturers and resellers around the world.

Any JTQ sounding examples would be great!

Thanks
