hear hear! yes, you may come off a little rough at times but I do agree with your comments. I, like a lot of other anxious musicians, would absolutely LOVE a new-and-improved HAMMOND clone, shit, I'd even be thrilled with a XK-2 upgrade. I trust the Hammond name (it's what made me choose the XK-2 over the VK-7) and I'm sure they'll be rolling out a great pro-line product sometime soon. As for right now, my XK-2 (heavily tweaked) and KBR-3D will do the trick for years to come. and yes, I still think it sounds better than the electro organ.. but, like assholes, that's my humble opinion.
patiently awaiting the arrival of a dual-manual HAMMOND clone,

Please guys, letıs put this tired Hammond bashing to bed! Nothing is
more
tedious than wade through post after post after post and hearing these
mind
numbing tirades. If youıre gonna write about Hammondıs manufacturing,
engineering or marketing plans at least take a class or read a book
about
economics, marketing or manufacturing processes. Itıs pretty obvious
how
clueless some of these posters are.
As I mentioned, Iım a manufacturers rep and one of our lines is H/S. I
own
and play an Electro, so Iım not biased or offended by these rants.
Opinions
are like assholes, everybodyıs got one, but do we have to be subjected
to
it?
The ³New B3² is an incredible feat of engineering. Far greater minds
than
mine in the music manufacturing industry as well as the elder voices of
Hammond history and lore are amazed at how the Japanese have nailed the
DSP
technology to recreate the original tonewheel technology. Yes, the
initial
offering of this new technology is a little expensive, but it is not
$20-30k, nor is it a product what was designed for us gigging
Clonewheelers.
The church and institution market for Hammond products is where the
profits
are generated to allow H/S to reinvest in R & D to create the ³New B3²
So
please no more whining about why we refuse to even think the technology
is
viable just because itıs not in our niche market. Our own little
universe
of clones is an EXTREMELY small segment. How many CX3ıs VKıs,
Electroıs or
Voceıs do you really think are being sold worldwide? Take a guess and
divide it by 10 or so, and you may come close to an accurate number.
The ³New B3² technology will trickle down into a pro product or two
that
will undoubtedly be worthy of the Hammond name. Just because it
doesnıt
happen on our own personal timetable to suit our individual agendas is
no
reason to mindlessly rant or bash. Many perceptions members of this
group
seem to grasp of the realities of manufacturing and marketing niche
products
are at best laughable.
I myself was a little disappointed to discover that H/S didnıt have a
new
pro line product to introduce at NAMM as I was initially led to
believe.
But hey, thatıs life in manufacturing. Iıve been a national sales
manager
for a pro audio company. If you ainıt got something ready that was
supposed
to be you either pay the price of delayed project planning, or you
shove a
half baked product into the market pray that your marketing department
can
summon enough spin & bullshit to make it look like it can fly while
your
software engineers waste valuable time cobbling together unstable
software
that can invariably kill or cripple an otherwise good product.
So Iım begging you all to cease & desist stupid rants about this
subject.
Invariably, the most important reason we all belong to one or another
group
like this gets totally lost in the damn noise floor - itıs the music
stupid!
Letıs try to focus on what makes us happy and fulfilled rather than
stuff we
cannot control or worse yet, have no position to speak from. Thatıs my
rant
and my story.
