Subject:Nord Electro 73 - first impressions

Just spent a few hours playing with my brand new Electro and it looks like
this is a keeper.

Just having a small, compact case - about the size and weight of a Fender
bass - that has all the sounds I need *most* of the time, it's a great
feeling.

I look at the CX3 in it's case, weighing twice as much, twice as thick, a
few inches longer (Kaces soft wheeled case is 49" long), 6" wider and I'm
thinking what I'll do with the newly regained trunk space.

I got a rev2 (from Tony at BT Productions - great guy, great deal) and so
far I'm very happy with how it feels and sounds. The acoustic piano, for all
the digs I've seen, sounds quite workable to me. The FX blocks are a lot
like having foot pedals arranged in a series and are quite intuitive.

Since I've only had one night with it, I'll bring to the gig tomorrow as a
replacement for the CX3 and not worry about jumping around between piano
sounds and organ sounds, using the Yamaha S30 I always do for the other
sounds.

But I can see how easy it will be to leave the S30/80 at home and just use
this keyboard.

As Bogie said at the end of Casablanca, this is the start of a great
relationship...

Anyone interested in a CX3, "vintage" rev1?
