Subject:Hammond
lol....you think? All you gospel players, speak up.
Seems the gospel players on this list tend to bring
their gear to use and then the church talks them into
leaving it (I don't know anyone who would rather bring
and play a clone than a REAL Hammond that's
installed.)
Most of the churches I know of can't afford to spend
$20k on an organ. My organ gets rented out a lot to a
few gospel churches here and believe me, they wouldn't
be renting if they could afford to buy. And hey, even
if that were the case, 900 "interested" buyers is
NOTHING to sneeze at. The fact is that HS is a
company who is firmly entrenched in their ways (ever
see a more service-disoriented business in your life?)
and they are not interested in catering to anyone's
wishes. All I can figure is they are a privately held
organization because shareholders wouldn't stand for
it. But then again....somebody must be buying them,
right? They couldn't stay in business if they're in
the red for long....could they? I for the life of me
though can't figure out who their customer base is.
Even with the XK demographic, they dont listen to us
at all. They are rigid, inflexible...oh yeah, did I
mention their factory/headquarters here in Addison is
less 5000 sq ft? Not a big company at all, so I'm
thinking their overhead is so low, that they can make
more money on fewer items.
I don't know...I just can't figure it out. You'd
think they'd notice that musicians who want a portable
Hammond have to go somewhere else to get a more
realistic Hammond sound.
