Subject:Re: VK-1000 owner(was: Clone Keybds v Palm Gliss)
Hey Mike... interesting that you mention the "chop" job that the previous
owner did to their VK... as I've often considered doing something along
those lines (actually, more like trying to get *two* sets of the drawbars
mounted in an external shell (a la Voce V5) with the motherboard in a
rackmount case, and use MIDI to send drawbar settings to the rack. Never had
the courage to don my Dr. Frankenstein hat, though.... :^)
I do like my VK very much, but I'm no longer in a touring situation with
roadies as I was a decade ago.... and the VK with it's accompanying
heavy-duty flight case just won't go into the trunk of my Honda Accord! Go
figure. This makes the Electro look very interesting to me, but I'd have to
sell the VK to do so. Perhaps a visit to eBay is in order (but I'm really
attached to the VK... :^/ ). Whatever shall I do? :^)

I'm not quite clear on what you're trying to do; are you trying to control
the modulation parameter while playing? If so, the VK will respond on MIDI
controller #01H for modulation, so you could send it from another keyboard,
perhaps.

Yes, I created a number of patches shortly after I purchased the unit,
mostly variations on drawbar settings using the same Rotary and Overdrive
values. I haven't done much editing lately, as I'm playing more with the
drawbars in Manual mode.
