Also keep in mind that the nominal impedance of the amp / speaker combo may drop from 16 ohms to as low as 4 or 5 ohms on the lowest frequencies where the amp is working its hardest. I'm not sure, but I believe the impedance level of the speaker is checked at something like 1000 Hz @ 5dB or something similarly ridiculous... definitely not the same as testing it with a 30 Hz tone at 60 dB for example.
