Actually, www.usb-audio.com sells an ASIO driver for $50 that makes the Extigy a pretty nice piece. I tried it out with their driver (30 day trial) and it worked great, but at the time their driver wouldn't enable the MIDI ports on the Extigy... which for me defeated the purpose of having it in the first place. That's why I went with the Quattro.

I was at Best Buy and saw the Soundblaster Extigy for $150 (which appears to
be the list price). External USB, does MIDI, SPDIF, line and mike in, 24bit
ADC & DAC, front/rear/subwoofer out, headphone, etc. It appears to be a
slightly-stripped-down Audigy without firewire, and with some features
offloaded to the processor (a 1Ghz/256M Toshiba laptop).
