Hey there Michael,
Welcome to the group. I also have an original Korg BX-3 that I gig
with, and a Hammond D-152 at home. And yes, the D-12 is way too heavy
for gigging without a group of roadies.
I run my BX-3 through the a Fender tube guitar amp (without the
speaker) and split my mix between our Yamaha PA and a 15"/compression-
loaded horn/Leslie 16 loop. It works pretty well, but I'm sure tht if
I had a bass head it would sound even better. I love most things
about the BX-3, but wish the keys could be changed to 'waterfall'
keys. For a clone, that's pretty much the only complaint about it.
