I'm a physician and the medial stools work great, especially if you need to wheel around. They are sturdy and don't move back and forth. They are also comfortable. You're right, they don't fold up for travel. I am sure there are medical equipment supply houses on the internet. Buy used, they always jack the price up for "medical" equipment.
