Subject:Re: Leslie worth buying?

Below is some info from the Hammond Leslie FAQ

http://theatreorgans.com/hammond/faq/

I don't know if the horn is 2 speed, or if it is the rotosonic drum. There is a 15" stationary speaker. I don't what a type S speaker is. Hook-up would be non standard and you may have to add a crossover so the bass frequencys don't blow the 6x9 in the rotosonic drum.

For what it is worth try to find a 147/145, thay are easy to hook to just about anything, and will sound propper.

Model 822 also HL822
Cabinet: Vinyl
Dimensions: 47" x 28" x 38"
Rotors: 2 Treble/Roto-Sonic type E
Amplifiers: 2 Channel Solid State 215 watt
Speeds: Fast-Slow
Speakers: 2-D,S,N,P
Belts: A,B
Motor-fast: 1
Motor-slow: 2
Hookup: 11

Cheers,

Ronnie B.

Subject: [CWSG] Leslie worth buying?

I was offered a Leslie 822 in working condition today (quite cheap)...
What a monster! I was wondering if it's worth buying for my
Electro...
The cable is missing and I don't have the preamp so I couldn't check
it out....

So considering preamp, cable, bigger car there's still some cost
involved......

I'm tempted, though....

Anybody knows how it sounds?
