Well, the other option is to build your own power supply. I am planning to
do this for my rig. We have a cool store here called Tanner's Electronics,
and I'm sure it's the only location, but there may be comparable stores in
other places. They sell the power supplies in sizes that would fit in half
of a single rack space for instence, and have ratings like 9VDC, 4.0 Amps.
Of course, a lot of wall warts are rated at 9VDC, 200mA. If this is the
case, you build a power supply at 9VDC, and the 4 amps is the peak output...
therefore if you split the output between six different connectors, you have
all the bases covered in a single rack space or a small module. It wouldn't
take long to rid yourself of wall warts this way. I suppose people on this
list (myself included) could build you such a unit for a pretty nominal
cost... say $50 or so, and all of your 9VDC equipment is handled. If it were
me I would try to split the output off the transformaer to allow 12VDC,
9VDC, and 6VDC. For comparison's sake, you could build this unit yourself in
a nice box for around $25 and whatever your labor is worth to you.
