Subject:Re: Differences between CX-3 and Electro keyboard actions
I normally don't get this meticulous, but am very curious to compare the
dimensions of the Nord and Korg keyboard mechanisms. From playing both at
length, I can anecdotally attest that there is a MARKED difference in the
way the actions feel. It seems to be a popular theory that Fatar
manufactures one waterfall action for both Korg and Clavia...I'm not sure if
comparing the feel of the actions dispels this notion. Is it possible that
different springs and/or key weights chosen by Korg and Clavia could create
a very different feel in the same actual keys? I don't know the answer.
For us nerds that want to compare key dimensions, here is what I just took
from my Electro 73 v2. These are the visible dimensions that the user can
touch. I did not hinge it open to see how long these janks go back into the
chassis.
White Key
7/8" wide x 5-5/16" deep x 3/4" high
Black Key
3/8" wide x 3" deep (top surface only) x 7/16" high
12 keys from C to B
6-7/16"
61 keys from C to C
33 7/16"
Can someone do the same on a Korg CX-3 v1 and v2 and Electro v1 and v2? I'm
presuming the Nord 61 and 73 are the same from key to key, but who knows. I
have no idea if they changed the Nord keys from v1 to v2. Thanks.

Subject: [CWSG] Re: Differences between CX-3 and Electro keyboard actions
Can we get dimensions of a Electro 61, 73, and CX3 v1, v2 keybeds?
LxWxH of the entire keybed, and LxWxH of a white and a black key.
That way, we'll settle the debate about whether or not the keybeds
are the same among the 61, 73, and v2. As for the actions
themselves, that will indeed need response from people who own both.
