Hi Bill,

I do have all of the piano sounds programmed with the same (audible) volume - the compressor finds and tames the odd notes that are sometimes too loud in comparison with the rest of my playing volume. This particular problem with the Electro has been talked about before, where the black notes respond 'louder' than the white notes particularly noticeable in the middle of a run up/down the keyboard.

My monitor amp is fairly old MM 500W stereo power amp which I have used with numerous keyboards and mikes over the last ten years and has a very reliable frequency response. Each of my (x2) speaker cabinets contains a 350W 12" Celestion, an 8" Celestion and a 1000W horn with a passive crossover running at 4 ohms overall giving me at least 100W headroom with my power amp running flat out (which I never need to do anyway) anything more than that comes from the main PA.

I do sometimes at rehearsal use an old HH MA100 pa amp into a couple of light Peavey 100W speaker cabs. OK for rehearsing but far too much treble for live work.

What are you using? I know these Barbetta seem popular in USA but here in UK the closest I have seen is from an Italian company called SR. I also value small size and light weight where ever possible.

Carl

Carl-
Have you tried making a preset for your pianos with the volume turned down a
bit?
I reset all of mine and there is little or no difference between organ and
piano volumes now-I highly recommend it, as it gets rid of the "FEAR FACTOR".
You also can adjust the volume from there(if you wanna turn it up) and the
preset will always be saved. It's a beautiful thing. Wjat are you using for a
monitor as I havent found anything that's overly bright or unnatural. Maybe
take a look at that,
Cheers-
Bill
