Ben, It is unbalanced, but seems to be a line out level and has no hum when
plugged direct into my Mackie mixer. It really sounds great when run into my
Fender Showman or Marshall jcm-900 amp into my hopped up leslie 145. I'm
sure you could plug it into powered speakers just fine without a mixer. The
cable is one I made which is 1/8" stereo to two mono 1/4" plugs. Actually I
come from the sound card to a volume pedal and then to whatever amp or mixer
I'm using. The Indigo has a small volume control on it that helps match it to
whatever you are using it with..
