Subject:Re: What would you improve/solve in the B4 ?

Hi Deke

I've mucked around a little with the demo version. The B4's strengtns
are very obvious. To me there are to critical weaknesses:

1) Tremolo is too "choppy" - I could beat myself on the head trying
to put into words what I don't like about it, but it simply falls well
short of CX3 & nord in the Leslie's tremolo. The EVB3 samples also
suggest that Emagic nailed the Leslie's tremolo down much better than
the current B4.

2) No grunt in the lower octaves. Even after Eq'ing with a small
mixer, LH bass doesn't cut it. (to get around this, I even
experimented with turning the CX3's lower manual off and controlling
the B4's upper manual, and then using my cheap Yamaha to control the
CX3's lower manual for LH bass.

If NI addressed those two items, I'd get the B4 yesterday. Since I've
only played with the demo version, I am unaware of the major control
features. It would be cool to cc my CX3's drawbars and controls to
the B4, but I suspect this is already possible. If the reverse color
presets don't have a way to change only the drawbar settings, and
nothing else, they need to. The ability to assign the left and right
drawbars as "live" settings to upper/lower manuals, like the CX3,
would be nice as well. I.E. one preset for the lower, & and a choice
of one preset PLUS two "live" drawbar sets for the upper.

Regards,

Doug
