Actually the manuals are about 45 lbs each. And if you eliminate the lower
manual, you save about 5-1/2 inches in the front-to-back dimension. But
each manual is set up to use two sets of drawbars through the B and Bb keys
in the preset part of the keyboard. It would be VERRRY tricky to figure out
how to rewire the preset panels to add another two sets of drawbars to the
upper manual. Seems like it ought to be doable, but I don't have a clue
how. I suggest you pose your questions on the Hamtech Message List--maybe
one of the Hammond service techs will know how (and whether) it can be done.
You have to join the group to participate: http://www.hamtech.org/list.htm
Good luck!
