Subject:Live at Fillmore East

One last word (yeah, right) on "Live at Fillmore East"

I have a dear friend that was a professional musician (Farfisa, then B-3) in
the late 60's/early 70's, mostly in the FL/GA area. He had acquaintices in
the Allman Bros "team", and saw the band many times at various venues. When
the live album came out, he and several friends agreed that they were "off
their game", and he has never been very impressed with the album. I trust
his judgement, you'd just have to know him.

My question is, if they were "off their game" while recording what I
consider the best live album I have ever heard by any band, and according to
my list, the second best album of all times, just how good were those guys?
Duane and Barry were gone by the time I was old enough to go to concerts, I
never cared to see any of the various versions of the band later.
