I dug out "Fire" and played it for the first time in many years - great record - lots of 'V' vibrato! And, if Carl Palmer played with Arthur Brown, that makes a connection between two of the hit songs named "Fire". I just read that when Greg Lake and Keith Emerson were starting to put a group together, they talked with Mitch Mitchell and Jimi Hendrix. I guess that Mitchell backed out, but discussions were going on with Hendrix when he died. By that time, Palmer was on board and (so I heard) the group name was going to be HELP. So, a connection between Brown's "Fire" and Hendrix's "Fire". Now, where do The Ohio Players and Pointer Sisters fit in???
