Frank and Cindy Stroupe brought up the fact that Charlie Daniels (known for his country) is the last person one would think of in a Rock/ Hammond vein.

However, about 3 years ago, I discovered a similar crossover in Country star Kenny Rogers.

I picked up one of those "Cruisin' Classics" cassettes for 1968 at a Goodguys Classic Car Show I attended.

Kenny Rogers was a member of a band called "The First Edition", and did a song called JUST DROPPED IN (TO SEE WHAT CONDITION MY CONDITION WAS IN).

I believe that's Hammond I hear toward the end of that song, and son-of-a-gun a very young Kenny Rogers belting out psychedelic rock no less.

A very interesting listen indeed. I'll never think of THE GAMBLER or COWARD OF THE COUNTY quite the same way again.
