You guys are obviously all musicians. You've mostly picked musicians albums!
Here's mine:

1. Oscar Peterson - Trio in Chicago (Verve, 1962)
2. Joe Sample - Ashes to Ashes
3. Jeff Lorber - Wizard Island
4. Steely Dan - The Royal Scam
5. Steely Dan - AJA
6. J.Tull - Thick as a brick (WHAT is with this reoccurrence?)
7. Yes - The Yes Album
8. King Crimson - Discipline
9. Gentle Giant - Free Hand
10. Gentle Giant - The Power and the Glory

These are mostly what I would call "perfect" albums of forethought.
Although there is a lot of improve on Oscars recording and I'm sure on the
rest. It's real jazz. It's also his personal favorite of his works. Most of
these albums are "keyboard loaded" except "Discipline" which uses NO
keyboards. In my opinion, it's absolute genius. I could survive with only
these 10 albums, but thank God, that's not necessary. Don't get me wrong, I
love J.S., Joey D. and Barbara D., but not over and over and over again. I
picked these albums because their material is dynamic, inventive, heartfelt
and just plain hard to come buy or dupe.
