Dear Chris,

That beloved Gibson G-101 I actually had going through a Leslie at gigs! But
then things started to break. First, some of the keys in resting position
were higher than others. Some keys would make a tremendous clacking sound
when you pushed them down. Then the leg brackets had too much play so the
thing would spontaneously fall down into a splits like a bowlegged drunk.
But nothing ever went wrong with the sounds and features.

Punchline: I stopped using it for some years. Then a gospel organist I know
saw it and was drooling so I donated it to him/his-church (which had a fine
B3 and Leslie).

Today I miss that G-101.

The Leslie I used was purchased for close to nothing by a Deep Purple tribute
band in Chicago named Warriors of Doom (they all had jean jackets with the
band name on it).

I should never have gotten rid of either piece.
