I use that technique too, TZ.
Using my left hand sideways on the keys, fingertips
pointed right, cover a bunch of keys blacks and
whites, PLUS I do a little wobble with my hand as I
slide over the keys. Works well on the top manual too,
with any DB registration you're using, from bottom to
top as a VERY dramatic slide into a real powerful
right-hand chord. Jake
