Do yourself a favor and pick up Al Kooper's new remix of Super Session,
and while you are at it, check out the new release of Al and Mike
Bloomfield at the Fillmore East.. It's the concert after the famous Live
Adventure of Kooper and Bloomfield recorded at Fillmore West. Johnny
Winters is introduced on this album... The reason why Kooper sat on it
for all these years is that the drummer sounds like he is on acid...
with predictable results...
The remix of Super Session is great. It has Season of the Witch without
the horns. which sounds really cool. I always wondered what his
registrations were for this song. One thing is certain, he really likes
the second harmonic percussion on slow... He uses that often.
I once emailed him to ask him what the SOTW registrations were, and he
answered: "I use the same drawbar settings as everyone else"...

Super Session, "Season of the Witch." Grindin'
Hammond, not hard to play, just sounds cool as hell, I mean
smoldering. TZ
