The only issue here is that on the VK-7 the brake function is not
implemented on the 11-pin outlet. It can however be rigged up using
a simple on-off switch on the right pin to stop the slow motors.

Leslie is not plugged in. A quick call to Roland customer service

With an external 11-pin cabinet plugged in, 9-24v is applied at pin
11 to the VK-7, which the VK-7 senses and bypasses the internal
Leslie.

Organ tone only with percussion (providing Percussion Direct is set
to "OFF") is then sent to pin 1 of the Leslie connector, the rotary
input. On p116-117 of the manual there is a detailed explanation.

With the external Leslie connected, orchestral sounds, reverb, (and
percussion if Percussion Direct = "ON") are sent to the 1/4" outputs
in stereo.

This same tone is available albeit in mono at pin 2 of the Leslie
connector.

Thus on a multi-channel you should get the orchestral voices through
the stationary speakers and the drawbar tone through the rotary
speakers.
