Subject:Re: Bose "PA" system

We use the PAS upper level monitors for our floor wedges. I believe
it's a 15" coaxial speaker with a 1.2 drive in the middle. I play
keys and use a SRM450 for my live keys wedge and I supplement that
with a set of Shure IEMs.
I like the PAS stuff as it is fairly priced and takes a pile of
power.
I did a show at Gilley's here in Dallas a couple of weeks ago and
they have several JBL floor wedges. They looked like 12s in a small
wedge but when you put several of them together they sounded great.
For foh stuff you just need to make sure that you have enough throw
and bottom end fill to serve the room. I think the Mackies would
work nicely. It also depends on how loud you play. If you don't
play very loud then won't need a lot of foh power. If you run off of
stage gear only then you're ok. If you mic everything then I'm not
so sure how much one Mackie a side would help.
