If you're right, then on what basis does Howard Wales claim to have played on
GEL? I emailed him when this topic first came up, over a year ago, to ask
explicitly if Howard was claiming the GEL solo as his own. The person who
responded (his agent, I think) said that it was indeed Howard on the organ solo (a
post quoting my email and the response can be found somewhere in the clonewheel
archives). Bearing in mind the role played by GEL in Jerry Corbetta's
reputation, Howard Wales's claim, if untrue, would be downright defamatory. Yet it
remains on his website, unchanged and apparently unchallenged.

BTW, I learned to play many organ solos note-for-note over the years by
copying what I heard on records. The fact that I could execute them didn't make me
capable of conceiving them. It isn't hard for me to believe the same was/is
true of Mr. Corbetta.

I guess this topic just won't die! LOL.

Rick
