Subject:Jerry Corbetta & GEL Pitch Dive
This topic comes up every so often...the pitch dive is achieved by quickly
toggling the organ off, which causes the tonewheels to slow down and
subsequently the pitch drops...then you flick it back on and it stabilizes.
This effect is present in the newer clones like the Roland VK and Korg CX/BX
series.
It can also be done with a pitch wheel if you don't have the tonewheel brake
feature.
On the topic of Jerry Corbetta, seems I remember an old post about GEL and
the rumor that it may not have been him actually playing on the
recording...time to go search the archives on that one.
