ahh but there is....its the reason we're all here in the clonewheel group.
and we're all trying to get that B sound for cheap without breaking our wallets,
our backs, and to do it all from one board (pianos, clavs what have you).
Perhaps spreading your fingers over buttons to shape the sounds may not be for
everyone, but there is something to shaping drawbars that lends itself to the
human hand as you can decrement drawbars while you increment at the same time
with little confusion.(using the sides of your palm while your fingers do other
movements). if you think about it, drawbars are the logical solution steming
from pipe organs that had giant stops to pull and push on. how you can get your
hand on 9 buttons with five fingers at the same time is beyond me. its like a
cel phone.. they can get those things so tiny but how would you operate it
with human hands?
