Hi all.. I play keys in a classic rock cover band.. nothing past
1973.. no synths. But I'm no purist. My piano used to be a KX88
driving a Kurzweil 1000PXA/B.. but my back didn't like dragging the
KX88 around and the 1000PX had a hard time keeping up with my fingers.

WOW! You have really, REALLY fast fingers.
My 1000PX has never missed a note -- including some ridiculously fast sequenced stuff.


I WILL say that the V5 through the Motion Sound is really, really
ballsy. I use the tube pre-amp in the Pro3T instead of the horrid
crunchy overdrive on the V5.

Cool. I'm one of the few that still admit to happily using a V3 when possible. Ballsy AND Grainy I mostly keep it around (like everything else) for nostalgia but it's useful for its Vox/Farfisa patch that the V5 and most others don't have. Real classic rock needs real classic cheese.

Does anyone have any advice for me? Is there an easier fix for the
Middle 'C' mismatch problem?

In fairness, this middle C issue has long been a Yamaha holdout. They've been testy and snobbish about the assignment of Middle C clear back to the early days of MIDI. Your KX-88 had the 'Yamaha C' on it.
