Subject:Need your light... was gonna buy a Hammond XK2 those days but...
... I read a few very negative comments about it.
So far I get a Leslie 770 + Speakeasy Tube Preamp.
As far as the organ sounds... I have B4 but don't use it on stage.
I play the organ sounds on my Triton or on my Kurzweil 2500 if I want
to use the drawbar mode. But it's not practical at all. So I am
looking for a great clone. I heard that the XK2 is a great one so I
was gonna buy one those days. It's just today I found some very back
comments about it.
I remember the CX3 which I tried last year. I liked the keys but the
sound was too smoothy to me, the overdrive very shy and the dynamic
not that great.
Re the VK7 I heard pros and cons....
To make it short, I am lost. What shall I get for a 1,200-1,500$
budget? I want something that I can take with me on stage without
having troubles (heard that the XK2 could have some strange behaviour
at some point - the biggest drawback being its useless with a real
leslie).
My order is on the way so I need to make up my mind the soonest. I
rely on your cooperation and feedback.
What would you recommend: XK2 - CX3 - VK7 or VK8? Is there any other
substitute?
Thanks very much in advance.
Steven.
I either play organ with my Triton sounds or with my K2500 in the
drawbar mode. But the keys are so hard I
