Hi, Guys.

I had set up a database in the Nord Electro group for people to share
drawbar settings for songs they had figured out. Never got too many
entries posted, but I think the idea is still worth persuing.

Databases are a built-in feature of the web-based page for yahoo
groups. (for some reason, this clonewheel group page does not have
them enabled, but I'm sure it's a owner-set feature in the
administration account..Eric???)

Anyhoo, I set up a field for each relevant parameter (name,
description, drawbar 9 digit code, CV settings, Perc settings, OD and
leslie settings, etc.) and registered group members could add entries
at will.

If you are a Nord Electro group member, you can find it on the
navigation panel on the left side of the web-based access page. If
you are the owner of a color-challenged clone (not red!) you can
join, too, just choose the no mail option so you don't have to hear
us gloat about the B3 sound, bitch about the piano sound and dream
about OS3 :-)

My original idea was to "port" the presets from the B4 to the
database, So others without a B4 could dial the presets into their
other clones...thing is, the B4 allows non quantized choices for
several parameters which many clones cannot duplicate. For example,
the Chorus/Vib is not limited to the 6 settings, it is a contiuous
control. Same with the Perc settings and there are lower order
harmonics available as well. Dont get me started on the leslie sim
parameters or the OD amp setings. We got Fast/Slow/Off and 0 to 10.

I still want to do this, but I started A/B-ing the NE and the B4, and
got too distracted to write down my findings. One could do it given
some time and compromising on some in-between values.

Maybe the FDA, the RIAA or someone could require the organ settings
be listed on the CD liner notes, like the nutrition label on food. I
mean, they tell you what guitar strings they play, who took the
pictures for the label, what font the text is in, that they use
monster cables, etc. would it kill them to put a 888000008 2nd F/N C2
on the lyric sheet?? :-)
