Subject:V-Combo for sale
Hey all....its 21-12-03 here in Sharma Sheik, Sinai (Egypt) and I'm gearing up for the trip home. (By the way, how do you like that date huh? Very "Euro" of me, I must say!) We fly out out of here in a few hours into Cairo, where I've got one last day off, or 16 hours anyway, then its a flight to Frankfurt then another to Chicago. I am SO ready to be home. But it has been a real trip to say the least.
Anyway....the tour is over, and for anyone interested, I have a MINT CONDITION Vcombo for sale. I'll be happy to answer any and all questions regarding it, but be patient. My internet access will be nonexistent for probably the next 48 hours, but you never know.
For general purposes, the questions I think will arise:
"Well, did you like it?"
Answer: Yes and no. I loved it for its convenience and size and weight, its ease of use and capabilities. If you like the VK series of organs, then you'll like this. I'm not totally crazy about them, but what I really did love about this was its KEY CLICK and its GRIND. It is able to give me sounds I can't get with my Electro (not to mention drawbars) and its a hell of a lot of fun to play with. If you don't like the VK series, you really probably wont be seduced by this keyboard, at least not for its organs anyway. Its pianos are...ok, nothing to write home about.
"Did it hold up?"
Answer: Yes, it held up admirably. I put it in a custom made Calzone case which I then had to have REFOAMED cuz of Calzone's lousy quality, but the case did remarkably well for a 33lb keyboard case on wheels. I had NO Problems with the Vcombo whatsoever, whether on 110v or on a 220v transformer. It is of typical Roland quality, which means darn near indestructible.
"Then why are you selling it?"
Answer: Piano makes up half of my gig, and I CANNOT abide playing piano on a nonweighted or semiweighted board. If the AFE sends out again, which undoubtedly they will, they're just going to have to ante up for the cartage of our gear. Going with in-ears, I reduced the equipment needed for my monitoring purposes by 70lbs, so they can make it up by shipping my Motif8. If I had to keep it to one keyboard, I'd either bring my Motif 8 and I'd probably buy a VK8m. I much prefer my Electros organs, but there were enough things in the Vcombo to make me devise ways to get an enjoyable experience with the sounds.
So....that said, if you're interested in the Vcombo with or without the case, hit me offline. I did some road notes for our new website (just about finished or so I am told), and I took the liberty of sending some on....if you're interested, check 'em out, and if not, just ignore them. I'm going to try and catch 2 hours of sleep before our transport arrives, but in the event I can't, I may just try and finish the road notes for the rest of the trip.
Peace.....
