try by instinct to get close to the sound. there may be 9 bars but its only 9
and if you can acquaint yourself with what each drawbar sounds like, the way
each string on a guitar sounds like, you will get a feel for sounds used. try
and invision each single note as a chord having been stacked by drawbars....
another param overlooked is the expression pedal on a hammond that does not
behave like an ordinary volume pedal. any registration on a drawbar setting
sounds much different when the expression pedal is at min volume compared to when
its maxed out. i'm sure there are members in this forum who can explain what
the expression pedal on a B3 does.... same for a leslie amp volume setting. the
sound you may hear on GFR's song may be presets or classic B3 sounds, you
already know how to dial in, with the only difference being the expression pedal
effect on a hammond and the leslie amp volume. then, was the leslie used on the
recording a 145 or a 122? 145 is a rocker's leslie... and, how was it miked
and eq'd before and after it was recorded? perhaps after dialing in your B4 you
may want to try eq-ing.... no soapbox here, jus some ideas....
