The MS horn phase plug removal is supposed to improve the horn
frequency response to lower frequencies, more high mid-range. On MS
website, click on 'support' then 'tech & legacy' - it's the first
item. Here's the link w/text, pictures, date of upgrade:

The current MS 1.2 titanium diaphragm is the 3rd or 4th diaphragm
upgrade since the original Pro3. The impedance or resistance in Ohms
of the driver has been lowered a little due to diaphragm upgrades.
This lets the amplifier put out more power. So the original Pro3 amp
which was rated about 35 watts, then 40 watts, now will output 45
watts with the MS version 1.2 horn diaphragm in any of the Pro3
series; it fits all of them. MS has these for $50-something plus a
small shipping charge.

Both of these changes are easy to do. How to get at the driver is
shown in the manual per 'diaphragm replacement.'
